Managing the Household

Managing a neurodivergent household is a complex, exhausting and - let's be honest - often thankless balancing act. I live it myself . Every. Single. Day.

I get it. I truly get it.

I understand the emotional weight of sensory regulation and the need for emotional scaffolding. You need a practical plan that works so you can, maybe, actually begin to thrive again - not just survive whilst holding everyone else together.

A blanket answer 'for all' won't work.

You need tailored approach for your specific needs that you can try and test with me holding your hand through it until it works. You need to know what is the 'person' and what is the 'condition' so you can make informed choices and plans for your family and restore some regulation and peace to your life, where you once thought it would be impossible.

We can provide the tools and support you need to navigate your personal challenges with greater ease and resilience - and maybe, just maybe, give you a few seconds each day to get you back onto the path of 'you' again. No guilt. No catastrophic fallout because you dared to  catch a breath for a second. Just... s p a c e.

My Story

Welcome, I’m Hayley and I'm a Household Regulator.

I am truly glad you are here, but I also know the weight you carry that brought you to this page. We love our families deeply, yet the reality of being the emotional anchor in a neurodivergent home is a burden few understand. It involves relentless sacrifice, invisible labour, and a carousel of complex emotions—guilt, exhaustion, and sometimes a quiet, heavy resentment that we punish ourselves for, though we've never had any help in managing all 'this'.

My journey began in the arts, but my life’s direction shifted when my world was redefined by caregiving. In 2018, I nursed my father through terminal cancer. Shortly after, my son Charlie began his journey with neurodiversity. Despite my background as an Alternative Provision Tutor, navigating the gruelling EHCP process and school transitions took six years of resilience I didn’t know I had. Life continued to challenge us. My husband, Lewis, was diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder, resulting in frequent seizures and an inability to work. Meanwhile, my mother’s Parkinson’s progressed, requiring significant care. For a decade, I navigated crisis after crisis, experiencing the darkest moments of isolation and pillow-screaming frustration.

I realised I needed to transform this lived experience into a lifeline for others.

I pivoted from my acting career to follow my passion for Psychology, earning a Masters in the subject and qualifying to screen for ADHD (DSM-5). I wanted to bridge the gap between clinical knowledge and the raw reality of living in a neurodivergent household, offering courses for mothers and their families, and some clarity for those who wonder if ADHD is part of their biology.

I have been where you are—hopeless, drained, and holding everyone together while coming apart myself, but never daring to admit or show it.

Now I use my academic expertise and personal lived experience to help women like us find their way back to their own identity.

You are no longer alone in this journey. I’m here to hold your hand and turn the burnout into your balance.
